BRISTOL- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ciera Lauryl (Capuano) Schultz, age 39, of Bristol, announces her unexpected passing after a tragic accident on May 18, 2026 in Farmington. Her loss leaves an unimaginable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Ciera was born June 17th 1986 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of Lawrence and Joann (Finelli) Capuano. She was raised in the Bridgeport area and attended local schools in East Haven and continued her studies at Housatonic Community College, where she earned her associate's degree in business administration.
Ciera was a bright and joyful soul whose radiant smile, infectious energy, and wonderful sense of humor lit up every room she entered. She loved to dance, especially at Zumba, and found happiness in staying active and being outdoors—hiking, kayaking, relaxing by the Farmington River, or spending time at the beach with those she loved. Ciera lived with passion, kindness, and a generous heart. She had a gift for lifting others up, making people feel seen, heard, and valued, and inspiring those around her to be better. She was honest, caring, and strong, and when needed, she had a loving way of helping people find their way.
Ciera was both deeply loved and adored by her husband Michael Schultz. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion together. She changed the lives of those closest to her in countless ways. Her ability to inspire and uplift will forever remain imprinted in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and love her. As her loved ones reflect on her life, they hold tightly to the words that capture her spirit best: she straightened people out when they needed it most, inspired those around her to become better, and left an impact that can never be replaced. Her family and friends will forever be grateful for the privilege of knowing and loving her. As we remember Ciera, we will hold close the love, laughter, and kindness she shared so freely with others. She was truly one of a kind—a bright light whose beautiful smile and spirit touched so many lives. Though the world feels dimmer without her, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Schultz, with whom she shared 17 loving years with; her parents Lawrence and Joann (Finelli) Capuano, her brother, Lawrence Capuano; her sister, Deanna Capuano; her brother-in-law, Samuel Vera; her beloved nephews, Alex and Jayson Vera; her grandmother, Jeannine Bogus; her father and mother-in-law Wayne and Patricia Schultz as well as other extended family members and countless friends.
