BRISTOL— It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Ms. Christine Otano, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Civita Care, Sheriden Woods in Bristol, surrounded by the blessed love of her family.

Christine was born on February 16, 1971, in Waterbury, the cherished daughter of Carmen (Gutierrez) and Angel Otano. Christine shared a loving home in Bristol with her parents for the past four years. Christine will forever be remembered by those who knew her as a woman who was compassionate, strong, and who held a special, unending love for her family. Her smile lit up every room, and her laughter could bring a bit of sunshine to any situation.

Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy, beside her parents, are her son, Vassago Perez, her brother, Angel Otano II and his wife Britt, Angel and Britt’s daughters, Ava and Annalise Otano. On the Otano side of her family, Christine leaves behind Raul and Paulette Otano, Miriam Otano, Nelson and Adela Otano, Sonia and Stein DiDonato, Minerva and Richardo Pagan, and Wilbur Otano. She was predeceased by her her grandparents, Carmen and Raul Otano, John Otano, Robert Otano, Fernando Otano, Elizer Otano, Jose Otano, Vivian Otano, and Theresa Otano. On the Gutierrez side of her family, Christine was predeceased by her grandparents, Fortuna and Americo Gutierrez, as well as Zulma Tripp-Velez, Gloria Arroyo, Martha Cocchiola, and her uncles Fernando Gutierrez and Americo Gutierrrez Jr.

A Memorial Service for Ms. Otano will be held on Saturday, July 11,2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Christine’s family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Saint’s Cemetery, 203 Spring Lake Road Waterbury, CT 06706.
