AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Cherie A. (DeMayo) Bates age 76 of High Street died Monday August 31, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital.
Cherie was born July 20, 1933 in Boston, Mass., a daughter of the late Dominick and Ann DeMayo and lived in Watertown since 1963. Cherie also lived in Detroit, MI and New Haven. She was educated in Detroit. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed as a pool typist at Travelers Insurance where she worked for many years. Cherie was an avid bingo player.
She leaves a son Robert A. Bates and his wife Kathryn L. Bates of Amsterdam, NY., a sister Arlene Cellato of Northford, and three grandchildren; Amber, Arielle and Seth Bates.
