Mr. Charles A. Robinson

June 16, 1986 — June 15, 2023

WATERBURY - Charles (Charlie) A. Robinson, a life-long resident of Waterbury, Connecticut, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the age of 36, just one day short of his 37th birthday at his home.

Charlie is survived by his mother Sheila D. Robinson (West), his only daughter and princess Alexandra Robinson, and her mother Iris Canales and a host of many cousins, extended family members, and friends, and his dog Chloe. He is predeceased by his late father Charles H. Robinson.

Charles was born on June 16, 1986, to Sheila D. Robinson (West) and to the late Charles H. Robinson, who we know was there to greet his son with wide open arms. He attended Wilby High School, North End Middle School, and Bucks Hill School, all in Waterbury. Charlie worked previously at Blasius Auto and MAACO in Waterbury, CT. and County Line Nissan in Middlebury, CT, but more recently found a new joy as a substitute teacher in the Waterbury Public School system. Additionally, he ran his own auto detailing business that he thoroughly enjoyed and poured himself into.

As a child, Charlie was active and enjoyed all things with wheels, everything from power wheels to mopeds, to dirt bikes and cars. As an adolescent he loved football and in 2000 was the star freshman football quarterback at Wilby High School who led his team to their greatest record since 1986. As an adult he loved mentoring youth and supporting the local sports even acting as the source of transportation to and from sports events for many of the city kids.

Charlie’s greatest love of all was his daughter, Alexandra. He loved nothing more than being a Dad, her Dad, and he lived each day with the purpose of ensuring that she would never want for anything. They were twins for sure, not just in their looks, but in their personalities. They understood one another, trusted one another and were truly best friends. He was very involved in everything his daughter did, her school, her sports, her friends and in her every day.

Charlie was very well known and well-liked. He was outgoing and always greeted everyone with a smile and a gentle wave. He will be missed by so many.
