Obituary

WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Charles H. Beaudoin, Sr., age 73, of Waterbury, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the widow of Teresa (Curtin) Beaudoin.

Charles was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on October 31, 1952, the son of the late Conrad and Lucie (Bedard) Beaudoin. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, he was an avid sports enthusiast and a proud letterman, excelling in diving, and football during his time at Wilby High School. His commitment to sports continued throughout his life; he earned a third-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and shared his love for martial arts at The Beaudoin Academy of Karate. He dedicated his career to service, starting as a lifeguard at Lakewood Park and later spending many years as a devoted police officer for Southern Connecticut State University. After his time in law enforcement, he continued to serve his community as a security guard at hospitals in New Haven. A devoted parishioner of the Basilica, he found devotion and community in his faith. He was an active member of the Franco-American Club, where he cherished friendships and shared joyful moments. He enjoyed watching the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team and loved family picnics and vacations to Wildwoods in New Jersey. He loved his family more than anything, especially spending time with his sons.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Left to cherish and honor his memories are his sons; Charles H. Beaudoin Jr., of Waterbury, Michael Beaudoin and his fiancé, Amanda Laferriere of Waterbury and Daniel C. Beaudoin of the Bronx, NY, and his sister in laws; JoAnn Beaudoin of Wolcott and Delphine Vierra of Prospect. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 30+ years, Teresa (Curtin) Beaudoin and his siblings; Barbara Plouffee, Robert E. Beaudoin and James A. Beaudoin.
