Carolyn
Kenausis
Jul 3, 1941 — Oct 4, 2026
Carolyn Frances (Fainelli) Kenausis passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Carolyn had a generous heart and gave of herself to others. Her primary and favorite role in life was as a wife and mother. She also devoted time to several volunteer activities. Through her church, she initiated a sandwich-making program to feed the homeless. Through her work in the Region 15 school system, she was a leader in unionizing administrative and paraprofessional staff. In her free time, she liked to dabble in interior design, hunt for online shopping deals, and keep up on current events, as she very much enjoyed a spirited political discussion. She knew her way around a computer more than most her age, and her knowledge of grammar would make a 1950s Catholic school nun proud. Her Alexa is currently in mourning.
She leaves behind her four children (and their families): Paige Kenausis (Mike Barlow, Zoe, Jared, and Maya), Jeff Kenausis (Veronica, Luisa, Owen, and Ruby), Kristin Kenausis (Kong Chiu, Harper and Lauren), and Gregory Kenausis (Satu Jarvilahti, Maria and Max). We find comfort in knowing of her joyful reunion with her husband, Lawrence Kenausis, and sister, Bunny Fainelli, who predeceased her, and are awaiting her arrival with a glass of wine and a bag of potato chips. She will be deeply missed.
A private ceremony will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Direct Relief or The Lake Quassapaug Association. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705 has been honored to care for Carolyn and support her family during this difficult time.
