PROSPECT - Carolyn (Brown) Gumpper age, 83 of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 19, 2022 at the Apple Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Watertown with her family by her side. She was the widow of Frank Gumpper, to whom she was married to for 52 wonderful years.

Carolyn was born April 4, 1939, in Waterbury the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Simon) Brown. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School, Class of 1957 and then graduated from St Mary’s School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. At the time of her retirement, she was the Director of Central Supply. Carolyn and her husband owned Gump’s Cleaners in Prospect for 3 years after retirement. Carolyn was an active parishioner at St Anthony Church in Prospect where she taught CCD and enjoyed serving her parish using her nursing experiences taking blood pressures after mass. She enjoyed coaching girls’ softball with her husband and looked forward to their annual family vacations to Eagle Lake Maine, where her family roots came from. Carolyn loved nature, the outdoors, and all animals, especially dogs. But what was most important to Carolyn was her family, especially her adoring grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she enjoyed every minute she could spend with them, even those who lived out of state. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to honor her legacy and treasure her memory are her children; Karl Gumpper of Boston MA, Kristine Santovasi and her husband Anthony of Prospect, Joseph Gumpper and his wife, Lisa Gumpper of Iowa City, Iowa, Frank J.
