OAKVILLE- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Carol A. DiVergilio, age 81, of Oakville, shares the news of her unexpected passing on Monday, February 16, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by those who loved her. She was the beloved widow of Vincent DiVergilio Sr,.
Carol was born on March 30, 1944, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Anella (Kukaitis) Kontout. A lifelong resident of Oakville, she found love and companionship in her beloved husband, Vincent, with whom she shared 28 wonderful years together. Carol devoted herself to her family and community. She worked as a secretary for the State of Connecticut, but it was her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother that defined her life. She found joy in gardening, ceramics and cooking, where she took pride in preparing meals to gather with her family. Her giving spirit extended beyond her family, as she dedicated her time volunteering at the Watertown Food Pantry, where she positively impacted the lives of many. For Carol, family was everything, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Carol will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she forever rest in peace.
Left to honor and cherish her memory and legacy, are her children, Vincent DiVergilio Jr., and his wife Lisa of New York and Marc DiVergilio and his wife Kimberly of Oakville, her grandchildren, Amanda, Erica, Vincent III, Luke, Matthew and Jillian as well as her sister Joan Costa. She also leaves behind 2 great- grandchildren, 1 niece and other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by loving husband, Vincent and her beloved dog, Gizmo.
