Loving wife, mother, grandmother of many
WATERBURY – Brigida (Perez) Vargas age, 94 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Waterbury Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Oscar Vargas Roman.
Brigida was born on March 10, 1928 in Utuado, Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Antonio and Margarita (Carrion) Perez. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great, great grandmother whose priority in life was her growing family. She nurtured each and every member of her family with her warmth, and love and made sure they were upstanding productive citizens of this great country. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Rosa V. Martinez, Pedro, Jose, Oscar, and Miriam Vargas. She also leaves scores of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her late children; Ramiro, Maria, Wilfredo, Carmen, and Margarita.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vargas will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Brigida’s family on Tuesday morning from 12 noon until the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
