Betty Jean Wilkins age 68 passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones in Waterbury CT after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Betty was born November 13th, 1956 in Darlington, South Carolina to Lizzie Mae Absent and Willie "Suge" Stevenson. Betty was educated in the South Carolina Public school system before relocating to Connecticut with her family where she Graduated from Kennedy High School. Betty excelled in her work as a home health aid and Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked for many companies as a sought after caregiver even doing private duty where her clients often made her apart of their families.
A true jack of all trades, Betty was multifaceted in several areas including being a fashion designer, interior designer, cook, and a true music virtuoso. Betty had the pleasure to sing in two music groups the Spiritual Keys, and The Golden Voices with her sister Juliette and longtime friend Yolanda. She served as the praise team leader, soloist, choir director and Evangelist at her home Church Evangelistic Caravan Center in Waterbury, CT. Her voice was truly unique and a gift from God that she used to spread praise and glory for her lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband Lyndell Wilkins, her son Chaz Edric Stevenson, her daughter Whitney Faith Stevenson, Two brothers Bishop Edward (Easter) Arthur, David Lewis Stevenson, two sisters Juliette "Juicy" (Johnnie) Gatling, Sharon Renee Henderson, two beloved granddaughters Shazia Stevenson and Maliyah Stevenson and a host of nieces, nephews, and many more loved ones.
Betty was predecessed by her Father Willie "Suge" Stevenson and her brother Willie Roosevelt Stevenson.
Betty will be truly missed for many things but above all her ability to make everyone around her feel loved, with nothing more than her beautiful smile and her heavenly voice.
