Mrs. Barbara A. Lucas

MIDDLEBURY  -  Mrs. Barbara (Korner) Lucas, age 85,of Middlebury, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital.  She was the wife of Michael J. Lucas. 

 Barbara was born April 26,1939 in Waterbury, daughter of the late George T. and Adele (Ricciardi) Korner. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher in both Long Beach CA and Naugatuck CT. 

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy besides her husband Michael of Middlebury are her siblings; brother, George (Karen) Korner of New Canaan CT, sisters; Linda(Gerry)Walther of St.Louis ,MO and Kristine (the late Jack) Hannemann of Barnstable MA, and several nieces and nephews.
 
 Funeral services for Mrs. Lucas will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Midd-South Catholic Parish, St John of the Cross Church West Rd Middlebury at 11:00 a.m. To honor Barbara’s memory, contributions may be made to VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital,56 Franklin St. Waterbury CT 06706. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care was honored to assist the family.
