WATERBURY - Audrey Cahill, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 23, 2021 at Abbott Terrace Health Center in Waterbury CT. The wife of the late Bill Cahill.
Audrey was born March 21, 1935 in Flushing, New York, as an only child to David and Helen Williams. She was the light of her parents' lives. She went on to work as a nurse's aide at Danbury hospital, and truly enjoyed helping others. Audrey enjoyed spending her summers in Pennsylvania with her family. She met her husband Bill on a blind date November 2, 1951 at the age of 16. These two married five years later on June 9, 1956, and God blessed these two with four beautiful boys. Audrey was passionate about poetry and even wrote numerous poems that were both published in New York and Connecticut. Audrey has a passion for flowers, cherished talking with her family and friends. Ice cream Sundaes were a treat that Audrey never forgot about even up until her last day on earth she would say that thinking about this sweet treat would make her salivate.
Audrey leaves behind her sons; Michael (Carmella), Mark (Christine) and David, her 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. In addition to many nieces, nephews and great friends. Audrey is predeceased by her husband Bill and her son Dennis.
Relatives and friends may visit with Audrey's family on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street Oakville CT 06779. Burial will be privately at the convenience of her family We are all still concerned about the pandemic, consequently masks will be required at all times while indoors.
