Arthur James Legge

WOODBURY – Arthur James Legge, age 72, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully at
Vitas Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Arthur was born in Waterbury, CT on January 23, 1950, the son of the late Arthur and June
(Schafter) Legge. He was a resident of Southbury Training School earlier in life but more
recently a resident of the Aspire Group home in Woodbury . Artie loved simple things,
taking rides or going for walks. He loved going to amusement parks on rides, swimming,
dancing, and singing. Artie loved to listen to Johnny Cash and always enjoyed eating ice
cream. Some of his favorite things were playing records, being home for the holidays with
family and going to the movies. He loved animals especially visiting cows and horses. Artie
was very proud of his work at the Bidwell Center in Waterbury where he worked for many
years.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister; Colleen Spieler and husband, Michael, brother
in law, Dennis Schultze, niece, Lynnette Guida, nephews; Kurtis Spieler and his wife, Amy,
Dana Schultze, Devon Schultze, Drew Schultze, and great nephew, Harley Guida. He
also leaves many other cousins and extended family members. Besides his parents, Arthur
was predeceased by his two sisters; Denise Schultze and Deborah Legge.

Funeral services for Mr Legge will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
for The Casey - O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779 to Our Lady of
Loreto Church 15 Ardsley Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00
a.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit
with Arthur’s family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the procession leaves for church at
10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. To honor Arthur’s memory the family requests you perform
