Armand W. LeVasseur

WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Armand W. LeVasseur age 82 of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on Friday, June 6, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Laura (Watts) LeVasseur.

Armand was born on October 26, 1942, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Armand F. and Rita (Adam) LeVasseur. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, where he was an accomplished swimmer. Armand worked for Tuttle and Bailey, Ryder Student Transportation, and, finally, the City of Waterbury before his retirement. He was an avid New York Mets and UConn Women’s Basketball fan and enjoyed many years of duckpin bowling at Sena’s. Armand lived a life as bold and vibrant as his spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories that will undoubtedly be carried on through his family. A devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather — rest in peace, Armand, as your legacy of love and your spirit will endure forever.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his loving wife Laura of 54 years, are his children: Jennifer Thompson and her husband Roy Jr. of Waterbury; Cynthia Shugrue and her husband Maurice, also of Waterbury; Karen LeVasseur of Carrollton, Texas; Armand L. LeVasseur and his wife Evelyn of Waterbury; Adam LeVasseur and his wife Palmira of Cheshire; and Chastity Weid of Waterbury. He is also survived by his sister, Denise Gelinas of Waterbury, and a host of nieces and nephews. Armand and Laura were blessed with 12 grandchildren: Troy, Elijha, Lindsay, Wallace III, Jordan, Jayden, Mia, Briana, Cyris, Alexandra, Stephen, and Mikayla; and 5 great-grandchildren: Juan, Matteo, Antonio, Wallace IV, and Eliano. He was predeceased by his siblings, Caroline and Denis LeVasseur.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit the LeVasseur family on Thursday June 12, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury.
