Tony was born on July 21, 1964, in Waterbury, CT, the son of Pauline (Fistola) Torretta and the late Anthony Salerno Sr. Tony was a proud lifelong resident of Waterbury, where he embraced every moment with a heart full of love and a hint of mischief. Tony graduated from Crosby High School and dedicated over 25 years as a coffee machine technician, sharing his skills to service and install commercial coffee makers throughout the Waterbury region as well as the entire state. His passion for his work was matched only by his wild side—his sarcasm and humor made every gathering lively and unforgettable.
A true Harley Davidson enthusiast, Tony loved the thrill of the open road, whether cruising on his motorcycle, riding quads, or spending time in the great outdoors, hunting. His love for classic cars shone through his cherished 1971 Chevy Nova, which he often spoke about with pride. An avid sports fan, he cheered on his beloved New York Yankees and Giants, and his favorite NASCAR driver was none other than the legendary Jeff Gordon, number 24. At the heart of Tony's world were his family, whom he adored fiercely, along with his four German Shepherd fur babies. He brought joy to every family gathering, embodying the roles of a supportive father, son, loving husband, brother, and fun uncle, always leaving laughter and fond memories. Though he may have departed from this world, the joy he brought and the memories we created together will forever echo in our hearts. Celebrate Tony with us, remembering the laughter, the adventures, and the love he so generously shared.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his beloved wife of 17 years, Michelle, and his mother, Pauline, are his children: Anthony Salerno III and his wife Carly of Northford, Jamison Salerno of Waterbury, David Golden and his wife Tia Lavigne of Salisbury, Sarah Dehling of Watertown, and Kayleigh Golden-Martel of New Britain. His grandchildren are Luis, Ava, Westyn, Miya, Brooke, and Chase. He also leaves his sister, Lisa DeCrisanti of Waterbury, as well as several nieces and nephews, other extended family members, and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Salerno.
