OAKVILLE- Anthony Andrew Famiglietti, also known as Tony or Pops, age 88, of Oakville passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Tony was born on April 12, 1937, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Antonio and Mary (Petrucelli) Famiglietti. Loving brother to the late Carmella Osteen, Jenny Ligouri, Elanor Clock, Marie Gomes, Mike Famiglietti, and their respective spouses. Left to honor his memory is his brother John Famiglietti and his wife Sharron of Naugatuck.
He grew up in the Watertown area and attended local schools. He worked at Dorset Rex before starting his own painting business. Prior to his retirement he was a beloved custodian for the Watertown board of education.
Tony was an avid sports fan and had a deep love for the Yankees, Giants, and Celtics. Tony was also a foodie and enjoyed a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee with his friends and an occasional Bavarian cream donut. Later in life he could be found sitting in his chair, keeping watch over the neighborhood. Above all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was the husband of the late Bonnie (Becker) Famiglietti and survived by her children Steven St. Mary and his wife Michelle of Wolcott, Gail St. Mary of Waterbury, Anne St. Mary of Watertown, Christine Woods and her husband Joe of Southington, and Heather Vendetti and her husband Steven of Southington. He was predeceased by the mother of his children Marcia (Gwiazdoski) Famiglietti and survived by their children. Debbie McMullin and her husband Brian of Chesapeake, Virginia, Alan Famiglietti of Watertown, and Lisa Gelinas and her husband David of Oakville. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Matthew, Ryleigh, Amanda, Andrea, Zach, Spencer, Brandon, Aubrey, Tyler, Mark, Tony, David, and Emma. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with the Famiglietti family on Thursday, November 06, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT 06779.
