WATERBURY – With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Mrs. Annette Marcia (Sproul) Morgan, age 67 of Waterbury, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of Ruel Morgan, to whom she had been married for 40 years.
Annette was born on December 4, 1958, in Kingston, Jamaica, the daughter of Lila (Lopez) Sproul and the late Herman Sproul. In her youth, Annette excelled as an athlete, running track in Jamaica and playing volleyball, traits that mirrored her energetic spirit. Annette dedicated her professional life to the medical field as a Business Clerical worker at Bridgeport Hospital. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her caring nature, as she always sought to help others with compassion and efficiency. Annette cherished family gatherings and celebrations, creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Known for her infectious laughter and warmth, she often brought people together over her delightful cooking, especially her beloved banana fritters, a family favorite. She had a fondness for leisurely afternoons filled with soap operas and the pages of romantic novels, as well as evenings playing dominoes and challenging herself with crosswords. These simple pleasures filled her life with joy and contentment.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life filled with love, faith, and countless warm memories. Annette will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish and honor Annette’s memory, beside her beloved husband, are her mother: Lila (Lopez) Sproul, her children: Andrew Morgan of Waterbury, Ruel “Kevin” Morgan Jr. and his wife Catie of Davenport, FL, Omar Morgan and his wife Georgette of Wellington, FL, Clavair Morgan of Naugatuck, Tiffany Morgan of Cohoes, NY, Tanay Rogers of Naugatuck, Taya Rogers of Waterbury, as well as her siblings: Perry Sproul, Jeffery Sproul of Jamaica, and Jennifer Sproul of Queens, NY. She will also be remembered by her two grandchildren, Amir and Silas, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Annette was predeceased by her father, Herman Sproul, and her sister, Joann Sproul.
A Celebration of the Life of Annette Morgan will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT.
