WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness that the family of Anne B. LaRose age 80 of Waterbury, share the news of her unexpected passing on Monday, August 18, 2025 surrounded by her devoted family.
Anne was born on August 9, 1945 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Jackson) Birmingham. A lifelong Waterbury resident she was a graduate of Croft High School and earned her degree in Nursing as an L.P.N. A dedicated nurse, Anne served with compassion at several area nursing homes, including Oakcliff, Wolcott View Manor, Cedar Lane, and concluded her career at Abbott Terrace. A devoted parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish, she also gave of her time in service on the School Board. Above all, Anne was a consummate mother, grandmother, and caregiver—her first priority was always her family. Her home was the heart of countless cherished gatherings, where her love of cooking and baking brought everyone together. She also enjoyed quiet moments, especially her daily ritual of watching Jeopardy, which she never missed. As her children, we grew up witnessing our mother face every challenge life placed before her. Though we know there were nights she carried her burdens in silence, each morning she rose with strength and devotion, giving her all to raise us. She taught us resilience by her example; we do not know how to be weak, for we were raised by the strongest woman we know. We, her family, offer our deepest thanks to Mom—for every prayer whispered on our behalf, for every sacrifice made in love, for the countless hugs she shared, and for the unwavering devotion she instilled in each of us. Her legacy of love and strength will live forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor Anne’s legacy and cherish her memory, are her sons: William of Waterbury, John of Southington and Robert and his wife Toni of Wesley Chapel, FL She also leaves her brother, Fred Birmingham of Cheshire and her sister, Elizabeth “Bunny” Phelan of Waterbury. She also leaves her devoted grandchildren; Zachary, Kaleigh, Sean, Jacob, Robert Jr. Eliana, William and Michael and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
