Devoted to her family

OAKVILLE – Angela Cirelli, age 88, of Oakville passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Vitas Inpatient Unit of St Mary’s Hospital after living a long and full life. Her final moments were spent in the company of her loving family and friends. She was the widow of Gigino Cirelli.

Angela was born in the small town of Cercemaggiore, Italy on November 10, 1935 to the late Domenic and Orsula Biello. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1956 to start a life with her love, Gigino, after his time serving in the Italian Armed Forces. Angela’s family continued to grow and thrive as she worked towards her dream of becoming a full American citizen, which she accomplished in 1976. Angela treasured most of all her time spent with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to love and know her.

Angela leaves behind her three children, daughter Maria Grayson of Oakville, CT; daughter Joanie (husband Bill) Marti of Prospect, CT; John (fiancé Tracy) Cirelli of Tucson, AZ. She also leaves behind sister Anna (husband Vinnie) Basile of Oakville, CT; brother Amedeo Biello of Oakville, CT; brother Nicholas Biello of Oakville; grandson Shane (wife Tenisa) Grayson and great-grandsons Jace, Sorin and Venser of Wheelock, VT; granddaughter Alyssa (husband Derek Hagopian) Marti of Rhode Island; grandson Mike Marti of Astoria, NY; along with many additional family and friends, both in the United States and in Italy, namely, Jane Evans, Carol Biello, Victoria Biello, Mary Jo Zezima, Anna Testa, and Ida Cirelli. Angela was predeceased by her brother, Joe Biello and his wife Rosemary; brother, Angelo Biello; sister, Vincenza Biello; sister, Maria Venditti and her husband, Angelo, and brothers, Frank Biello, Anthony Biello, and Michael Biello.

Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, including Denise Rickevicius, for their compassion, care, and treatment provided to Angela during her final days. They would also like to share a special thank you to Mary Jo and “Carolina” for their supportive roles as caregivers, confidants, and personal chauffeurs for Angela in her times of need.

A graveside committal service will be held for Angela on Wednesday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown at 11:00 am. Everyone attending the graveside service for Mrs. Cirelli should please meet at the mausoleum chapel. There will be a celebration of life at Cercemaggorie Community Club in Watertown immediately following the graveside service. Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main Street, Oakville has been honored to assist the Cirelli family.
