Beloved Husband and Brother
WATERBURY– Andrew James Gorman age 63, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 28th, 2023. He was the husband of Philomena Gorman.
Andrew was born on January 19th, 1960, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Patrick and Ruth Gorman. Andrew was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and served as an officer on the Waterbury Police Department. Andrew attended SS Peter and Paul Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School, where he was president of the Senior Class of 1978. Andrew always had a passion for cars and sports, especially pro football.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his wife, Philomena; siblings Patrick and his wife, Darcie of Laguna Beach, CA, Daniel of Watertown; Laura Gorman and her partner Bridget Tartaro of Naugatuck, and Ruth Haines and her husband, John of Kirtland OH. He also leaves his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Pat and Ruth Gorman, brother, Thomas Gorman, and sister-in-law, Linda (Veronneau) Gorman.
A memorial gathering for Mr. Gorman will be held on Wednesday, October 18th, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Casey Eastside Memorial Funeral Homes and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. A private burial will follow in New St Joseph’s Cemetery Waterbury. In lieu of flowers and to honor Andrew’s memory, donations to the ALS Association at: www.ALS.org would be greatly appreciated.
