OAKVILLE - Alma (Yarwood) York age 95 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Bucks Hill. She was the widow of the late Anthony York.
Alma was born on June 18, 1926 in Runcorn, England, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Clark) Yarwood. She was a graduate of the education systems in England. Alma came to the United States after the war to join her sister Joy who came over as a war bride. Alma was than introduced to her brother-in-law's, best friend, Anthony York. After spending time together, Alma and Anthony got married, they were very well suited for each other and it was forever true love. They had their two children together, and just enjoyed life to the fullest. Alma worked at Virjunes Manufacturing for many years, she was a parishioner for many years of All Saints of Christ, Episcopal Church of Watertown, CT. After retirement Alma spent her time being apart of the Watertown Senior Center.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories, is her daughter, Jean Cremins, and her son, Stephen York. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews. Alma was predeceased by her sister, Joy Griffin.
Funeral services for Mrs. York will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
