Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery
Alice E. (Prior) Regan, age 92, of Watertown, CT, formerly of Waterbury and Prospect, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Old Glory Days Assisted Living, after spending her final days surrounded by the love of her family. She was the widow of George L. Regan.
Alice was born on February 18, 1934, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Hugh B. and Catherine (Donahue) Prior. After marrying in 1955, she and George made their home in Connecticut where they raised their family and later enjoyed spending their retirement winters in Naples, FL.
Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith, family, and friends were the center of her life. She was an active and devout parishioner of the Saint Peter and Paul Church community in Waterbury. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, traveling, and spending time with friends, especially her weekly lunch gatherings. She also had a lifelong sweet tooth and never turned down a chocolate bar or a bowl of ice cream.
Above all, Alice loved being with her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, quiet faith, sense of gratitude, generosity, and warm hospitality.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debra (Regan) Gwiazdowski of Warwick, Rhode Island and Susan (Regan) O'Brien of Naugatuck and her son, Stephen Regan and his wife Susan of Old Saybrook; her grandchildren, Timothy, Kathryn, Christopher, Stephen (Alisha), and Melissa (Sylvia); her great-granddaughter, Emmalyn; her sister, Mary Francis Creamer; her brother, Hugh J. Prior and his wife Lorraine; her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Regan and Judith Regan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, George Regan, and her brother-in-law, Raymond Creamer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
