WATERBURY - Yasmin Adriana Pena, 18, entered peaceful rest on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
Yasmin was born on May 21, 2001 in New York New York the devoted daughter of Luis and Yanira Pena. She was a Senior at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School in Waterbury where she was following her passion for fashion design and theater. She was clearly in her element at WAMS where she was loved by so many of her fellow students and teachers alike. She had a bright future ahead of her in the fashion world that was so sadly ended at her young age. Yasmin loved her family and spent endless hours with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also loved her school family where she truly embodied the spirit of WAMS.
Besides her parents, Yasmin is survived by two sisters, Madeline and Cristy and her brother; Luis Federico and his wife, Rose and her brother, Luis Miguel. She also leaves her niece and nephew; Aveline and Alexander, her maternal grandparents; Maria Abreu and Ramon Jimenez and her paternal grandparents Maria Henriquez and Antonio Pena of the Dominican Republic.
Due to the government's orders now in effect, there will be no public services for Yasmin at this time. Her family will conduct private services which will be livestreamed on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. on the funeral home's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EastsideMemorial . Please keep Yasmin and her family in your prayers during these challenging times. A public memorial service will be held in the future when restrictions have been lifted.
