Wanda Mary Chase Dinsmore

WATERBURY -Wanda Mary Chase Dinsmore - age 89 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home. She was the widow of John Dinsmore.

Mrs. Dinsmore was born December 8, 1927 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of the late Chauncey and Rosemary (Huto) Chase. Wanda was a longtime and active parishioner of The First Congregational Church of Waterbury where she served on several committees including: Music Committee, Church Council, Diaconate Committee, Christian Education Committee, Benevolence Committee and also served in the church nursery, was a Sunday School teacher, and former Chairman of the Fair Committee. She also served as the Director of the Robin Ridge Apartment's Hobby Room. Wanda had many talents including crocheting, cake decorating, flower arranging, catering, and dress making.

Among her survivors are her children John Richard Dinsmore Jr. and his wife Helen of N.C., Bonnie Lou Gagnon and her husband Robert of Wolcott, her sister Inez Victory Chase Carlson of Oxford, her grandchildren, Jason Robert Gagnon and his wife, Tandy Shannon of Ohio, Jamie Leigh Gagnon Gray and her husband David of Wolcott, in addition to her grandchildren, Fareed and Omeed Mosavat, and her great grandchildren: Breanna, Emma, Mason, Brandon, Kevin, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, David and her brother Father Chan Chase.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dinsmore will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Congregational Church of Waterbury, 222 West Main St., Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family in Rose Hill Memorial Cemetery in Rocky Hill, CT. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd., Waterbury has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements. Memorial donations in Wanda's memory can be made to the First Congregational Church Scholarship Fund.
