"Beloved husband, father and grandfather"

WATERBURY - Theodore E Martin, 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday March 31, 2021. He was the husband of the late Nancy E. (Tyler) Martin to whom he was married to for 52 wonderful years.

Ted was born on November 30, 1942 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Theodore and Laura (Hart) Martin. Educated in local schools, Ted graduated from Wilby High School and worked for many years as an employee of the Waterbury Republican-American. It was early in his career that Ted met Nancy who was then working as the elevator operator at Howland Hughes in downtown Waterbury. It was truly "love in an elevator". Together they enjoyed weekend outings with family and he always enjoyed going to his favorite East-end eateries and bakery.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memories are his five children; Richard T. Martin of Waterbury, Jennifer A Bard and her fiancé, Randy L. Corsi of Wolcott, David F. Martin of Waterbury, Scott T. Martin and his wife, Monique of Westford MA and Laura L. Martin of Waterbury. He also leaves his sisters; Dorothy Grimshaw and Betty Flanigan. Ted and Nancy were blessed with Eight grandchildren; Samantha, Raymond, Lucas, Antonio, Meara, Zachary, Abigail and JJ. He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene Martin.

Funeral Services for Mr. Martin will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT. Relatives and friends may visit with the Ted's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. till the service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. We are all still very concerned about everyone's health and safety, so all federal and state guidelines relative to COVID #19 will be observed but you can be assured of a safe, clean and comforting environment to express your support to the Martin family.
