WATERBURY - Theodore Barkauskas, age 91 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at home on December 8, 2021.
Mr Barkauskas was born on March 20, 1930 in Waterbury the son of the late Michael and Emma (Lukosevicius) Barkauskas. He attended local schools and worked at Scovill Manufacturing for 13 years before enlisting in the Military. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Navy while stationed in Hawaii and later Washington, DC. For many years he was an artist (painter) and created many great pieces of artwork sold locally. He also worked at Daves Frame Shop in Watertown. In his younger years he was avid weightlifter. He loved to read and listen to classical music, he himself playing the ukulele. Ted will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to cherish his memory, and honor his legacy, are his aunt Olga Konans, niece Cynthia Van Deursen, cousins: Linda Rickevicius, Anna Serrano, Drew Serrano and Stacey Serrano, his friend and caretaker, David Coney and other cousins and extended family members, He was predeceased by his sister Edith Leary.
Funeral Services for Mr. Barkauskas will be held on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 at Casey's Eastside Memorial. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the Barkauskas family from 10:00am till the time of the service at 11:00am at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East main St Waterbury, CT.
