THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF THELMA PARKER

WATERBURY - Thelma Parker age 91 of Waterbury, CT departed this earth on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Thelma was born in Lynchburg VA to the late Perry Johns and Martha Robinson Awkard. She was united in holy matrimony to Andrew (Buddy) Parker. This union was blessed with three daughters; Jean (Robert) Burke, Beverly Ann Parker, and Dolores (Lawrence) Sturdivant. Thelma was a retiree of the State of Connecticut: Department of Developmental Services. Thelma was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and served for over 60 years as an active member in the ministry. Thelma loved speaking about her faith and the bible. Thelma also loved spending time with her family and friends.

Thelma is survived by her twin brother, Henry Johns of Stone Mountain, GA and sister, Leatha Jones of Severn, MD. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew W. Parker, daughter, Beverly Ann Parker and brothers, Perry, Kyle and Charles Johns. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and that of her grandchildren: Danielle Davis (Valdosta, GA), Robert III, Andrea Burke, Lawrence Jr., and LaTanya Sturdivant of Waterbury. Great grandchildren Kamryx, Kaminx, and Kiyrax Davis (Valdosta, GA), Jordan Gallagher Burke, Javon and Janae Burke, Malik Frank, Leila and Ei'Zlee Sturdivant of Waterbury. Extended grand children are James and Ronte Byrd, Chantel Brown and Ashley Yates; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the current regulation in effect for the Covid-19 pandemic, a Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to assist the Parker family during this difficult time.
