WOLCOTT - Suzanne "Sue" (Kelly) Baker 90 of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury surrounded by her loving family, four days shy of her 91st birthday. She was the widow of John F. Baker Jr.

Sue was born in Waterbury on February 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (McGivney) Kelly. She is a direct descendant of the late Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus.

She lived in Waterbury all her life until she moved to Wolcott in 2002 to live with family until a brief stay at Cheshire Regional Rehab in Cheshire in 2015. She was a graduate of Wilby High School where she met and maintained a lifelong friendship with her closest friend, Dora McDermott whose birthdays were one day apart. Sue spent her time dedicated to her husband and family as a homemaker. As a young adult, she loved to roller skate and that is where she met and married her husband, Jack and raised six children. She loved to read, especially the daily paper which she read "cover to cover". She also loved to watch Judge Judy and all who knew her, knew not to call Sue during Judge Judy. Sue loved to swim and frequently took her family to the beach during summer vacation. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and doing the little things such as making a meal for a sick friend or making a visit among many other countless acts of charity that she made. She was a faithful Catholic and was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury. Sue will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Suzanne will be sadly missed by her sons, John "Jack" Baker III (Connie) of Middlebury and Naples Florida, Thomas Baker of Waterbury, Paul Baker (Susan) of Cheshire and daughters, Laurine Nadeau (Herman) of Wolcott, Joan Rivera (Manny) of Waterbury and Rosemary Perrone (Michael) of Wolcott with whom she made her home. Sue leaves her grandchildren; Christopher, Jennifer, Becky, Kyle, Jack, Adam, Jessica, Heather, Andrew, Bryan, Meghan, Eric, and Allison and 9 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Francis X. Kelly and his wife, Roberta of Prospect.
