WATERTOWN - Mrs. Shirley Lawlor age 87 of Watertown, passed away peacefully at Mattatuck Health Care Center in Waterbury after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Edward Lawlor.
Shirley was born February 21, 1932 in Ansonia, CT, the daughter of the late Louis O. and Martha (O'Neil) Houle. She was raised in the Southbury area where she attended local schools and spent many years working as the Shipping & Facilities Manager at Uniroyal. Shirley was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Ireland. She was a member of DIV 66 of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians - Waterbury and she enjoyed listening to Irish music. Shirley was also an avid UCONN women's basketball fan and a Boston Red Sox fan. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Besides her husband, Edward of 18 years, Shirley is survived by her children; Mark Norris and his wife, Maureen of Naugatuck, Timothy Norris and his wife, Anne of Bantam, son-in-law James Wilkas of Thomaston; step sons: Michael Lawlor and his wife, Lisa of Watertown, Raymond Lawlor and his wife, Karen of Watertown, Eric Lawlor and his wife, Dawn of Bethlehem. In addition, she leaves her 4 grandchildren: Shannon Caraballo, Stephanie, Jessica, and David Norris, and 2 great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, Benjamin, Garrett, Katherine, Matthew and Julia Lawlor. Shirley also leaves Neil Holland, her dear life-long friend. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, John J. Norris and her daughter, Maureen Norris-Wilkas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lawlor will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Watertown CT.
