THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF SARAH L. DILLARD
WATERBURY - God called home our angel, Sarah Louise Dillard on February 3rd 2022. She was 77 years old.
Sarah was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on March 6, 1944, daughter of the late Bannie Ann Rountree and Willie Rountree. Sarah worked for Timex/Bendix of Cheshire for 17 years. She was loved by her whole family and she shared special individual relationships with all of them, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind her companion, Thomas Gilchrist and her five children; three sons, Thomas Rountree, Rodney Eugene Dillard of Waterbury CT and Jerome Ernest Dillard of L I. New York, two daughters Juanita Faye Jones of Middletown, CT and Bannie Ann Dillard of Waterbury CT she also leaves behind her 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Two of her granddaughters who were like daughters to her Tyshell Dillard who took her to her appointments and grocery shopping whenever needed and Destynie Ireland who stopped by regularly just to sit with her and have great conversations. She will be missed greatly by her youngest grandson Averian Spencer and great grandson and great granddaughter who she babysat regularly, Taze Jaynes and Corin Ireland. She leaves behind her six sisters; Annie Wilson, Janice Parker, Clara Rountree and Salethia Rountree of Waterbury CT, Robin Distiso of Wolcott Connecticut and Minnie Rountree of LI New York. She was predeceased by her loving sister, Venita Benjamin. Sarah also leaves her five brothers; Vince Rountree and Rodney Rountree of Waterbury, CT Lee Rountree of Southington CT Wayne Rountree of LI New York James Rountree of Elizabeth City NC. In addition, she also leaves behind a host of cousins nieces and nephews who she loves so dearly. She was predeceased by her loving brother, Willie Junior Rountree.
