WATERBURY - Ruth E. Konovaluk, age 72, of Waterbury, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Village Green of Waterbury surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Robert Konovaluk
Ruth was born December 14th 1940 in Fort Edward, NY, the daughter of the late Alton and Geraldine (Bethel) Bartholomew. She grew up in the Glens Falls NY. area where she attended local schools and relocated to Waterbury in the 1960's where she raised her family. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker who was committed to her Christian beliefs. She was very computer savvy and would spend countless hours on-line and also enjoyed reading, and spending time in Lake George NY, but always seemed happiest while spending time with her family especially her grand children and great grandchildren. She was a member of the New Life Church in Wallingford/Meriden.
Among her survivors are her children, Robert Carkner Jr, Robin Bouchard, Pamela El-Bakhar, Christa Carkner, and Heather Dube, all of Waterbury. She also leaves her two brothers, Jeffery and Scott, her two sisters, Susan and Marilyn as well as seven grandchildren and five great grand children and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother A. David Bartholomew.
Relatives and friends may visit with Ruth's family on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm at Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER". 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury with a Memorial Service to be held at 6:30 pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
