THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF ROSEMARY PHELAN
Rosemarie (Teta) Phelan, born December 27, 1925, passed away peacefully of a non-covid pneumonia, surrounded by her family on December 27, 2020. It was her 95th birthday.
Although Rose struggled with memory issues in recent years, she never forgot her family - her daughters, Robin Phelan and Patricia Lunan, her 4 grandchildren Alyssa Lunan Correl (Todd) Dale Lunan (Sara) Ruth Mastroianni) Stubbs (Lincoln) and David Mastroianni, and her 5 great grandchildren. She believed the sun rose and set on those kids! She was also proud of her 10 nieces and nephews, all of whom held Auntie Rosie in high regard.
Rose was raised in Waterbury, the youngest of seven children born to Italian immigrant parents, Maria and Silvestre Teta. She is predeceased by her 5 brothers and their wives, and one beloved sister, all of whom had a hand in raising her when she lost her parents at a young age.
Rose lived in Middlebury for most of her adult life. She had wonderful friends over the years, many of whom have gone before her. She does leave behind her new pals at Valerie Manor and the many beloved and devoted friends at Westside Apartments.
Rose was always cheerful and giving. She was always willing to offer a helping hand and a laugh to anyone who needed it. She left us a shining example of a simple life well lived.
