WATERBURY -Ronald G. Nichols age 88 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Saint Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the widow of Eunice (Waldo) Nichols.

Ron was born September 13 1930 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Nathan and Verna (Horton) Nichols. He was educated in local schools and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent many years as an truck driver for Lombard Trucking and retired from New Penn Trucking and was active in the Teamsters Local # 677. He was an avid CB enthusiast with his handle "5cents".. He enjoyed camping, and fishing and was a long time member of the Bennington Moose Lodge. Ron will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Among his survivors are his children; daughter, Linda Baker of Waterbury, and son, Ronald David Nichols and his wife, Alice of Waterbury as well as his four grandchildren; Tyra, Kristin, Ronald and Joseph "JJ" and 5 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may visit with Ronald's family on Monday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m.st Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT 06705 CT. Burial with full military honors, in the family plot at New Pine Grove Cemetery, will be held at the convenience of the family.
