WATERBURY, CT - Mr. Roger A. Houle age 87 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a extended illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Cleary) Houle.
Roger was born July 17th 1928 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Albert and Simone (Demers) Houle. He proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean War conflict with the United States Marine Corp. He spent many years working as an industrial roofer until his retirement in 1992. Roger enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida and summers in the Berkshires but was always happiest while spending time with his family. He was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Besides his wife, Barbara of 65 years, Roger is survived by his sons, Robert Houle and his wife Maria of Miami FL, Raymond Houle and his wife, Susan of Southington, his daughters; Diane Houle of Waterbury, and Carol Gunnoud and her husband John of Naugatuck, his daughter in-law Patricia Houle of Prospect as well as nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Roger R. Houle.
Funeral services for Mr. Houle will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 10:00 am from Eastside Memorial "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
