MIDDLEBURY - Marilyn Shea age 86, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27th, 2022 at the Southington Care Center after a brief illness.
Marilyn was born on February 6th, 1936 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late John and Mary (Neuber) Shea. She was a graduate of Wilby High School class of 1954. Marilyn was employed by the state of Connecticut, Department of Development Disabilities in Wallingford, CT as a Contract Administrator for 25 years. Marilyn lived for her family and friends and was proud of her Irish Heritage and has fond memories of the many trips taken to Ireland with her daughters and sons-in-law.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her loving daughters Kelley A. Laurel and her husband Daniel Brownell of Boston, MA, and Karen A. Laurel and her husband Bruce Caldarone DC of Branford, CT. In addition, she also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John J. Shea of Norfolk, CT, and sister Patricia Mitchell of Ormond Beach, FL
Funeral services for Ms. Shea will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2022, at 10:15 am from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Saint John of The Cross Church 1263 Whittemore Rd Middlebury, Ct to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 am until leaving for the Church at 10:15. Donations in Marilyn’s name may be made to Saint John of The Cross Church Middlebury Ct.
