Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather

WATERBURY - Kenneth R. Strong age 83 of Waterbury, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Diann (Petro) Strong.

Ken was born February 1st, 1939 in White Plains, NY, the son of the late Donald and Lydia (Bronund) Strong. Ken grew up in Warren, CT and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School in 1957. He proudly served his country with the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne. In 1967 Ken began working as a firefighter for the City of Waterbury, spending the majority of his career as a driver on Engine 2 prior to his retirement in 1995. Ken enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, and gardening as well as playing cards with his family and he always looked forward to his trips to the casino. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0001 in Waterbury and was a long-time member of the Wolcott Land Owners Association. Kenneth will be remembered for his down-to-earth honest personality and integrity.

Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, besides his wife of 57 years, Diann. Ken leaves his son, Warren Strong, and his wife, Inma of Watertown, his daughter, Vickki Poveromo, and her husband, Joseph of Naugatuck as well as his three grandchildren; Joseph, Alexandra, and Jacob as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers; David and Calvin Strong and his sister Jean LeBlanc.

Funeral services for Mr. Strong will be held privately and he will be interred in his family plot in Warren CT. at the convenience of his family.
