WATERBURY- Juanita Cruz-Vega, age 79 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, July 31, 2022..
Juanita was born on May 3, 1943 in Guayama Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Juan and Julia (Cruz) Vega. She was educated in local schools and lived for her family. She raised her large family in a faithful, Christian life and taught all of her children the importance of loving God. While she was so proud to be a great daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother her goal in life was to support her children and family. She was an accomplished cook, had an infectious smile always and had a warm heart that loved to share her good fortune with all that needed it. Juanita was truly one of a kind and she made the world a better place for all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories, are her children and their families; Israel LaPorte Vega, his wife, Cshila and children; Hayley, Dejah, Jeremiah, Desiree, Brianna and Cayla, her Son Eliezer LaPorte and his children; Ilyana, Eliezer Jr and Jaylin, Tomasa Melendez and her husband, Juan and her children; Indialys and Luis , her son, Angel Ortiz and his children, Luisa Vega and her children, Franci Vega and her children, Jenni Vega and her children and Lucy Vega and her children. She was predeceased by her son, Jose Ortiz.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vega will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:30 pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, with the Rev Gloria Rivera, presiding, Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with the Vega family on Monday from 5:00 till the service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
